Adelaide M. Willey
HAMPTON - Adelaide M. Willey, 84, of 96A Winnacunnet Road, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Exeter Healthcare Inc.
Born on June 7, 1915, in Wynmoore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Marie M. (Engard) McMullin. She was raised in Pennsylvania, attended Vermont Academy in Saxon River, Vt., and was a graduate of Frankfort High School in Philadelphia.
She worked as a bookkeeper for E.L. Patterson & Sons of Portsmouth since the 1940s, when she came to live in Hampton.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and former member of the Women's Guild of the church.
She was the wife of the late Sheldon G. Willey, who died in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas P. Willey of Stratham and James M. Willey of Rye; a daughter, Barbara Nicholson of Hampton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Sowden of Wyalusing, Pa.; and a sister, Anne Scire of Long Island, N.Y.
William F. deRochemont
NORTH HAMPTON - The funeral for William F. "Fred" deRochemont of North Hampton was held Monday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Theresa Church, Rye Beach. The Rev. Fritz J. Cerullo, OSA, was the celebrant.
Judy Kish was the organist. Mary Lou Arcidi was the soloist, and Salvatore Devincenzo was acolyte.
Readings were offered by grandchildren of the deceased, Timothy and Merideth Boggs. The general intercessions were read by his son-in-law, Lawrence Boggs. The Boggs family presented gifts to the altar. His daughter, Elaine Boggs, gave the eulogy.
Burial was in the Newington Cemetery, with committal prayers by the Rev. Cerullo and Michael Richard, chaplain of American Legion Post 6 of Portsmouth.
Taps was sounded by Ryan Lawrence. The flag draping the casket was presented to Mr. deRochemont's wife by Joseph Shaw, senior vice commander of the Post.
Pallbearers were Timothy Boggs, John Russo, Anthony Loch, Robert Bergeron, Dr. Peter Czachor, Thomas Miskell, Philip Hoyt and John Willis.
Services were conducted Sunday evening at the funeral home by American Legion Post 6 of Portsmouth under the direction of Richard Brooks, district commander Post adjutant; Carl Walton, past commander ; and Michael Brooks, chaplain. Services were also conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Emerson Hovey Post 168 under the direction of Harry Laderbush, past commander; Joseph Goodwin, chaplain; Paul Schurman, senior vice commander; and Marc Anthony, officer of the day.
Jane H. Elliott
O'FALLON, Mo. - Jane A. Elliot, 72, former resident of 2 Downing Court, Exeter, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.
Born Nov. 19, 1926, in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes (Curran) Leard. She moved to Exeter in 1962, and after the death of her husband in 1997 moved to Missouri to reside with her daughter and son-in-law.
She retired from the Rockingham County Courthouse after working as a Circuit Court secretary.
She attended St. Michael's Church in Exeter.
She was the wife of the late John A. Elliott.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Hickman, and her husband, Dale, of O'Fallon; a son, John A. Elliot, and his wife, Marion, of Norwich, Vt.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Betty Hickman, of Hampden, Maine.
Joyce E. Carson
PORTSMOUTH - Joyce E. Corson, 67, of 140 Court St., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Sunrise Health Care.
Born Sept. 10, 1931, in Ann Arbor, Mich., she was the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Bishop) Woodard. She was a resident of Portsmouth for the past 14 years, moving from Dover.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 168 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Daryl T. Woodworth, Keith A. Corson and Leonard J. Corson; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
