Betty V. Woods

ROCKPORT, Mass. - Betty (Vibert) Woods, 71, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999.

Born June 8, 1928, in Beverly Mass., she was the daughter of Helen (Nelson) Vibert of Rockport and the late L. Dana Vibert. She was a graduate of the Hampton school system and also a graduate of McIntyre Junior College in Portsmouth.

She worked at the Rockport National Bank for 14 years. She then was the owner and operator of the "Lobster-in-the-Ruff Restaurant" on Bearskin Neck, Rockport, until 1984. She worked at the Sandy Bay Shoppe on Bearskin Neck until the beginning of this year.

She was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Rockport. She was a member of the Spiran Lodge No. 98, the Motif No. 1 Committee and the Rockport Christmas Tree Committee. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Retired Adult Troop No. 92 in Rockport.

She was the wife of the late Charles W. Woods.

In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter, Mary Helen and her husband, Glen T. MacLeod, of Rockport; a son, Dana V. "Buddy" and his wife, Mary Jo Woods, of Rockport; five grandchildren, Jennifer M. MacLeod of Rockport, Peter MacLeod of Gloucester, Justin and his wife, Danielle Mierz, of Rockport, Stefan Mierz of Rockport, Maura E. Woods of Rockport; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby-Faith MacLeod of Rockport, and Caleb and Madelyn Grace Wnorowski of Rockport.
