Supermarkets just aren't what they used to be
7/16/00 - Is anyone out there old enough to remember when everything in stores had prices posted on the products? You didn't have to consider unit pricing or try to remember what an item cost when you got it to the checkout. You knew if the checkout person made a mistake, you could catch it. Now items are not priced and unless you have a photographic memory, you can't remember what it cost when you get to checkout. We now have scanners that sometimes make mistakes costing the unwary consumer money.
