Hazel G. Balfour
NORTH HAMPTON — Hazel G. Balfour, 79, of 161 Post Road, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
She was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Boston, the daughter of the late George and Rose (Stevens) Brownell. She resided in Revere, Mass., for many years before moving to North Hampton in 1960.
She was a graduate of Revere High School and attended McIntosh College, Dover.
Mrs. Balfour was an administrative assistant at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for several years.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton, and was involved with the church's Nearly New Shop, the Women's Club, and Coffee Hours and was a member of the Oasis Club of Exeter.
She enjoyed reading and helping others.
The widow of Raymond H. Balfour, who died in 1991, she is survived by two daughters, Gloria Santella of Middleton, Mass, and Donna Devaney of Landing, N.J.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Burcham of Revere; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 High St., Hampton, NH 03842.
Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
Angelina Fitzpatrick
EXETER — Angelina "Ann" Fitzpatrick, 76, of 3 Colcord Pond Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, in Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
She was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of the late George and Frances (Wontroba) Vargeletis. She resided in Somerville and Malden, Mass., for many years moving to Exeter in 1987.
She was a graduate of Somerville High School.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick worked in the electronic repair department at the Data Printer Co. in Malden and for Analog Devices in Cambridge.
She was very active with the Exeter Senior Center and its Knitting Club and volunteered with several Rockingham County organizations. She enjoyed singing.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Fitzpatrick of Exeter; one son, Robert G. Fitzpatrick of Malden; two daughters, Celeste E. Cohen of Lynn, Mass., and Anne J. Rebello of Medford, Mass.; four grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Vargeletis of Chelmsford, Mass.; four sisters, Esther Linpinski of Dartian, Ill., Honorette Morgan and her husband James of Exeter, Christine Sonis of Nahant, Mass., and Lucille Uguccioni of Dennis, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Mass.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
Eleanore F.A. Nelson
PORTSMOUTH — Eleanore F.A. Nelson, 86, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at the Mark H. Wentworth Home, where she had resided since 1998.
She was born March 31, 1914, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Marguerite (Peters) Braun. She had resided in Colorado Springs, Colo., and in Durham.
Mrs. Nelson was a telephone operator for the George C. Carpenter Co. in Chicago for many years retiring in 1976.
She was active in the First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs.
The widow of Ralph A. Nelson, who died in 1998, she is survived by two daughters, Andrea N. LeBlanc of Lee and Jean A. McKanna of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Edith L. Sewall
EPPING — Edith Leota Sewall, 90, of 218 Main St., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, after a brief illness.
She was born May 10, 1910, in Newport, Vt., the daughter of Carl L. and Gladys M. (Dailey) Percy and had resided in Concord and Exeter before moving to Epping in 1948.
Mrs. Sewall was known as the Avon Lady, having sold Avon products for 51 years and she managed the hot lunch program for the Epping school system for many years.
She joined the Grange in West Peabody, Mass., and the Massachusetts State Grange in 1930; the Rockingham Grange No. 183 in Epping in 1949 and held various offices including master and lecturer, an office she held for more than 30 years; was secretary of Governor Bachelder Pomona Grange for 25 years; was a member of East Rockingham Pomona; and a long time member of New Hampshire State Grange and the National Grange.
Mrs. Sewall was former Noble Grand of Fern Rebekah Lodge and a 4-H leader for many years.
She was a member of Epping Community Church where she taught Sunday school and was the former president of the Ladies Aid.
She was active in the community serving in various ways.
She was the widow of Walter Low, who died in 1963, and Edgar Sewall, who died in 1979.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Robert K. and Barbara M. Low of Epping; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one sister, Elsie Coveno of Ayer, Mass.; one sister-in-law, Lillian Merrill of Exeter; and two nieces and one nephew.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 8 Pleasant St., Epping.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Epping Community Church, Pleasant St., Epping. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Epping Community Church, Pleasant St., Epping, NH 03042.
