Yanni to perform Verizon Wireless Arena on Jan. 29
A musical phenomenon, Yanni's music defies borders and boundaries and speaks to people of all races and nations. Yanni will be performing some of his most moving and loved compositions as well as music from his album "Ethnicity," with his band and a full symphony orchestra, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at 8 p.m.
Yanni has become one of the world's best-known musicians and composers since he released his debut album, "Out Of Silence" in 1987. He has performed live before more than 2 million people around the world, and in doing so he perfected the amplifying technique of a symphony orchestra, resulting in making orchestral music accessible to large audiences.
His 11 albums to date have earned more than 35 Platinum and Gold album awards worldwide, with total album and video sales of more than 18 million copies. His 1994 release "Live At The Acropolis" has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide, while the video version has passed six times Platinum and has become the second best-selling music video of all time.
In the U.S. alone, Yanni's albums "Dare To Dream" (1992) and "In My Time" (1993) have earned Platinum awards, while "Reflections Of Passion" (1990) and "Tribute" (1997) have passed double Platinum status.
