YORK - York Parks and Recreation Department has a lengthy list of offerings to chase away those winter blues.

Registration deadlines, however, are fast approaching for many of this season’s offerings.

Women’s Over 30 Basketball League has ongoing registration through Jan. 5. The league begins meeting on Monday evenings at Coastal Ridge Elementary School from Jan. 10 through Feb. 28. Game times will vary depending on the number of teams that sign up. Sign-up can be by the team or on an individual basis. The league will include full court play, uniform shirts, officials and timers. The cost is $55 resident/$65 nonresident

Swimming classes are available to children ages 5 and up with parent-tot lessons for under age 5. Resident registrations will be taken at the York Parks and Recreation office at the Grant House beginning on Jan. 5. Resident telephone registrations will be accepted the following day and nonresident registrations will be accepted the following Monday, Jan. 10. Space is limited.

The Winter Session starts Jan. 24 and ends during the week of March 21. Lessons will be held at the Anchorage Inn on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and start times vary between 3:45 and 5:15 p.m., depending on swimming level. These Red Cross-certified swimming lessons will be geared toward parent-tot and levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 swimmers. Classes are held once each week, for an eight-week session for 45 minutes.

The cost is $35 for residents/$45 non-residents.

Li’l Tikes & Mites Indoor Soccer registration is ongoing through Feb. 15. Li’l Tikes is for ages 3 and 4 and Mites is for ages 5 and 6.

The program will run from Feb. 26 through April 16 on Saturdays at York High School from 8 to 11 a.m. The program includes an introduction to the game of indoor soccer. The main emphasis of this program is to have fun. The cost is $35 for residents/$45 nonresidents.

Indoor Soccer Leagues registration is also ongoing through Feb. 15 with program dates from Feb. 26 to April 16 on Saturdays at the York Sports Center. This indoor soccer program is designed for boys and girls in second grade through ninth grade.

The cost is $50 for residents/$60 non-residents.

Pee Wee Wrestling for children in grades three through five is accepting registration through Feb. 1.

The program will begin at York Middle School on Feb. 15 and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with wrestling meets on Saturdays. The cost is $60 for residents/$70 for non-residents.
