STANDARD OBITUARY

The Portsmouth Herald, Exeter News-Letter and Hampton Union will provide all families with a 200 word standard obituary FREE OF CHARGE. (200 words is approximately 1,100 characters or 6 column inches).

This standard obituary should include name of deceased, along with age, address, date of death, date of birth and names of immediate family members, whether they survive or are deceased, as well as biographical information such as schools attended, jobs held, organization memberships and any special honors or awards received. Photos will be free of charge.

A standard obituary DOES NOT include details about funeral arrangements, services or memorials.

SERVICES

The cost of listing services in the Herald is $50. There will be an additional $50 charge if the services listing appears in the Union or News-Letter or both. There is a single $50 charge for services listed only in the News-Letter and Union.

The death notice will include only name, age, address and date of death, as well as details about calling hours, funeral or memorial service, interment, suggestions for memorial donations and the funeral home’s name and address.

The same rates will apply for services listings reprinted in the Herald, Exeter News-Letter or Hampton Union.

OTHER SERVICES

FAMILY NOTICE:

Families may also submit their own obituary that will run as presented at a cost of $225 for the first 200 words and $25 for each additional 30 words. This type of obituary will be distinguished by a border and a "Family Notice" notation.

SECOND-DAY

OBITUARY NOTICE:

Families wishing to run an obituary a second time may submit a second-day obituary notice. The cost for a second-day obituary notice is $25 for each 30 words (column inch).

FUNERAL REMEMBRANCE:

The Portsmouth Herald, Hampton Union and Exeter News-Letter are occasionally asked to print write-ups from funerals. Families may publish these for $25 for each 30 words (column inch). Obituaries and death notices may be sent to the Herald by filling in the form below, or by emailing ehobits@seacoastonline.com.
